WHAT TO WEAR TO THE RINK AND RINK POLICIES
  • WHAT TO WEAR UNDER YOUR EQUIPMENT: It is warm on the ice and we do not want to over heat our players. Under your equipment please wear a pair of shorts (soccer type) and  a long sleeve Tee-shirt.
  • SOCKS:  Lightest possible pair but make sure they come up over the ankle.
  • LOCKER-ROOMS AND GETTING DRESSED: You MUST come to the rink complete dress and ready to go on the ice.  You may put your skates, helmet and gloves on at the rink.  We do not use locker rooms to get dressed for security reasons.  USA Hockey requires that anyone in a locker room with a child must have background screening.  At $65 per person we cannot afford to screen over 200 people.  Our coaches and Board who have access to the locker rooms are screened for your childs safety.
  • Washroom: Please make sure that you go take your player to the bathroom before they go on the ice. Coaches cannot take players to the bathroom. Only the parent can. We will have helpers to assist you with skates and helmets.
  • CAMERAS: Bring your camera, as some of the best video you will get will be the first few weeks.
  • ONE ICE/PARENT VIEWING: Do not be concerned if your child does not immediately skate and sits on the ice a few times. Each child develops on their own time.  View your child but PLEASE...stay away from the glass as this is distracting to your child.  The coaches need your child's attention. Only coaches and program staff are allowed on the opposite side of the rink.
  • COACHING OPPORTUNITIES: We encourage parents to get involved in coaching.  IF you have hockey experience, we want you.  Coaching education Level I Clinic for USA Hockey is held in Erie on Sept 12.  Let us know of your interest. Our parent coaching policy allows you to work with your own child once they are placed on a team but prior to that time, we ask you to work with another group.  it is easier on your child and you...
  • VOLUNTEERS: We need your help during TIMBIT Program times to help set up the rink patrol boards, take attendance, be a team parent, and many other duties.  Please volunteer and get involved.
  • USA HOCKEY REGISTRATION: You will receive an email from USA Hockey in the next few weeks saying your child is registered with USAH. This is your player insurance and membership. WE HAVE A COPY SO PLEASE DO NOT BRING A COPY TO US.  THE EMAIL VERIFICATION IS YOURS.  You will get a great magazine monthly and many other benefits from USA Hockey.  Please keep this form and do not bring us a copy.  We have one. If you change your personal information, you need to let ELLGHA (eriehockey@earthlink.net)  know as well as USA Hockey. (1-800-566-3288).
  • PROGRAM COST: We think $80 and $125 is a great deal compared to other programs that are $500 and up. ELLGHA subsidizes this program by $13K each year.  The Sarah Tournament is our only fundraiser for this, so when asked to volunteer and sell ads.  PLEASE HELP!!  Here is what the program costs to run...
    • Ice-$225 her hour.
    • USA Hockey individual player membership-$35
    • Coaches screening and registration-$95-$110
    • Coaching education-$45-$200 per coach
    • Equipment replacement and maintenance-$50-$300
  • WE JUST WANT YOU TO HAVE A GREAT TIME, BECAUSE "THE #1 REASON TO PLAY HOCKEY IS TO HAVE FUN AND THAT IS OUR #1 GOAL"
  • There are no refunds after the program starts.

The Timbit Jersey Draft Night is a very special event and one your player will remember forever. The draft will be held at the 26TH STREET TIM HORTONS and will start at 6pm with the first draft name being pulled. Each child will be called to recieve their team jersey and a treat. Bring the cameras and join us for the fun. Players will follow the team schedule after the draft night. A list of coordinating team letters and colours will be posted prior to the draft for the following weekend. Please note that there are 5 draft sessions.  If your child is unable to attend, please make sure you email us by Thursday of draft day for your childs team colour and letter.  they will get their jersey at that Saturdays practice.     info@erieladylions.com

November's SECOND practice will be the hand put for the ad sales that support our program and keep prices down. We ask that each player sells a minimum of $20 in tournament program ads. Remember that for an additional 10% of each ad price, your ad can be in the Timboree and the Sarah program too. What a great way to tell your Timbit how special they are to Grammy, Gramps and you.

AMERICAN DEVELOPMENT MODULE IS THE KEY TO TIMBIT SUCCESS

INTEREST IN TIMBIT HOCKEY REACHES HIGHEST ENROLLMENT ON GREAT LAKES

We have been able to reach what we thought would take 4 more years to accomplish...age appropriate groups in Timbit Minor Hockey.  ue to the enrollment numbers, we will be able to group players in USA Hockey ADM appropriate groups for skill development.  Over the first three-four weeks of the program, you will see that the players gradually will be grouped by age and within those age groups there will be skill appropriate groups. With the Draft, the teams will be formed but skill development groups will take 1/2 of the scheduled Timbit practice time.  There will be three different drafts: Timbit 1 (ages 4/5)October 21 Timbit Blue (ages 6/7)October 14 and Timbit Red (ages 8-10 with selected 7s) October 7.
  •  Timbit Red (4 teams will have 1/2 ice practices with full ice games-
  • Timbit I (ages 4/5) with cross ice controlled games with skill stations as mandated by Hockey Canada Timbit Minor Hockey and USA Hockey ADM.
  • Timbit Blue: 4 teams with cross ice games as mandated by USA Hockey ADM

We have added an additional session starting the 26 of September.  The following schedule applies to the first week and 10/10 only.  Please follow the posted division schedule on all other dates.

SKATING WITH THE OTTERS

Please follow the schedule below.  The skaters are free and the Otters offer us a reduced fee for the parents, families and friends.  Your team manager will collect the ticket orders (no money) and you will pick up and pay for your tickets at the lower lobby door of the Civic Center where the Otters enter.  ONLY 1 parent may enter at that door with the player.  This is a Civic Center rule. IF YOU ARE RE GETTING TICKETS FOR OTHER FAMILY AND FRIENDS.  HAVE SOMEONE COME WITH YOU TO TAKE THOSE TICKETS ONCE PAID UP STAIRS TO THE MAIN LOBBY WHERE EVERYONE ELSE MUST ENTER.  You will take your equipment to the Locker Room and enjoy the 1st period.  10 minutes left in the first period, player and parent will go to the lockerroom to dress. After the perido break skate, you must take your equipment to your car.  They will give you a pass to reenter. LET'S MAKE SURE THE WHOLE TEAM IS THERE.  IT WILL BE A 5 ON 5 WITH 2 GOALIES.  EACH PLAYER WILL ONLY HAVE 1 TIME TO SKATE AT A GAME
